Seeking information on vaccine procurement and advice?

Please note that it is the COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force that advises the federal government on COVID-19 vaccine procurement and the National Advisory Committee on Immunization that advises the federal, provincial and territorial governments on vaccine delivery policy and priorities.

Seeking a test for antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19?

We are receiving many reports from people who recall having had symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 disease before there was widespread testing for active infection with the virus.  We fully understand your interest in getting a serological test to check for antibodies to SARS-CoV-2. The COVID-19 Immunity Task Force’s mandate, however, is not to provide antibody tests to individuals. Our job is to generate estimates of population level and trends in immunity, and as such all Immunity Task Force testing is being done within the context of specific studies.

In the months ahead, we expect that provincial and territorial governments will make decisions about how to introduce antibody testing into wider use. Depending on those decisions, testing may be available through family physicians and other healthcare providers, or through worksites where physical distancing is difficult or where employees do public-facing work.

We hope this information is helpful and we thank you for your interest in the Task Force.
